How long is the examination duration of a Patent in Hong Kong?
For Hong Kong re-registered standard patent, it depends on the parent PRC, UK or EPO Patent office, it takes about 3-5 years.
For Hong Kong original grant standard patent, it is about 2-5 years.

How long is the examination duration of a trademark in Hong Kong?
It takes about 4-6 months. If someone file a opposition within the 3-month period beginning on the date of publication, which period may be extended for 2 months.
What is the official fee of trademark registration and patent registration in Hong Kong?
For Hong Kong trademark registration, the official fee is HK$2,000 and HK$1,000 per additional class.
For re-registered and original grant standard patent, the official fees are HK$686 and HK$4,413.

Do we need a Power of Attorney for appointing an agent to help us apply for a trademark or patent in Hong Kong?
No Power of Attorney (POA) is required in Hong Kong registration.
What are the procedures of patent registration in Hong Kong?
It is divided into standard patent and short-term patent.
For Hong Kong standard patent, it could choose one of the routes, Re-registered standard patent and Original grant standard patent (newly launched in 2019).
